Workshop: Russia's Pravda Network: AI-Driven Disinformation Worldwide

This workshop takes a closer look at Portal Kombat, also known as the Pravda Network, a coordinated effort to manipulate online platforms like Wikipedia to twist facts, rewrite history, and inoculate pro-Kremlin narratives in AI chatbot solutions. It explains how Kremlin-adjacent actors linked to the 2014 illegal annexation of Crimea have set out to build a global network of online portals aiming to influence international audiences, distort the truth, and groom large language models (LLMs). 

Based on research conducted by the DFRLab and Check First, this operation shows how vulnerable current-day chatbots are to foreign influence and information manipulation, and what these vulnerabilities entail for users who trust AI to get their news or shape their online experience.
